rocks & stones

long walking in the woods

over the rocks & stones

& though the light faded

I knew I was going home

hearing no voice there

amongst the trees but my own

the prayers between lips

come as when needed

thanking the light

the growing shadows

for the day the night

making the way easy

no broken bones

& somewhere I buried

that bitter part of me

was it under a tree

by the green path

or

had i taken the time

& grown?
